For transgender and gender-variant populations, finding non-judgmental service providers within the beauty industry can be quite a challenge. At the same time, professional grooming tailored to one’s own gender identity can be one of the most effective and affordable ways to feel comfortable and attractive in one’s own body. Big Bro’s Barbershop aims to be the best non-medical resource to Vancouver’s transgender/gender-variant community by providing customized grooming services without a gendered bias, and by retailing gender-affirming products often sold exclusively within “adult” shops, out of reach of queer youth struggling with gender dysphoria.

Big Bro's Barbershop is a settler-owned business located on the unceded Coast Salish Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Our prioritization of transgender wellness includes actively engaging with and supporting Indigenous trans and two-spirit people.
