Canadian Rockies Fly Fishing School

I have fly fished for 30 years, and I have 15 yrs experience on the Bow River and SW Alberta trout streams and lakes learning entomology (Note: I have a Bachelor of Science Degree), fly patterns, casting techniques, and trout lies in rivers and lakes.

For $120 per day, I can take you out walking and wading on the Bow River in South Calgary, and teach casting, what flies to use, and where the trout live.

Buddy Rate: $180 for 2 fly fishers

Group rates (3+): please add $50 to the buddy package for each additional fly fisherperson.

Gear rentals are available as well for folks just wanting to try fly fishing without the commitment of buying equipment.

The fee also includes a river guide summary of the fly fishing book I am writing called "Fly Fishing the Bow River Vol. 1: Discovering Success as a Beginning Angler." You can have this river guide summary on your phone ready to go showing you casting tips, where the trout are, what flies to use and what bugs to look for. Talk about an incredible Bow river specific resource that is free with the seminar!

I can also arrange for trips out to the mountains for cutthroats on dries, bull trout, grayling, and even alpine lake experiences for an hourly rate.

I am also a registered physiotherapist, so for any fly fishers interested in changing their cast to manage pain, I can help you adapt your casting mechanics to unload a sore shoulder, elbow or wrist.
