Cerridwen Sage Hicks’ work lays within Paleoart, cultural spiritualism and mythic arts. Her paintings explore a world of dinosaurs, fantasy and mysticism as well as folklore and mythology. Much of her inspiration comes from the ancient world of dinosaurs and the wilds of nature.
As a self-taught artist who has been painting and drawing since childhood, Cerridwen has built up a body of work that transitions from pencil sketches of dinosaurs to oil paintings of mountains settled into primordial forests. As a trained Graphic Artist and Computer Graphic Designer as well as Photographer, Cerridwen has developed an eye for detail and color. Her work conveys not only the world of dinosaurs, but Mexico’s Day of the Dead and wonderful mountain ranges. While most of Cerridwen’s work has been done with acrylics, she also works with watercolor, oils, as well as pen-and-ink.
Cerridwen currently lives in Calgary Alberta with her family and takes trips to the mountains and Drumheller at every opportunity where she finds her creative spark. She has had her work shown in exhibitions, juried shows, and galleries. Today, many of her paintings are in private collections within Canada and the USA.
