General Information:
It is the goal of the Dakota Ojibway Police Service to position itself as the police service of choice to First Nations seeking alternatives in policing.

Dakota Ojibway Police Service has a tradition that is proud and wishes to service your community. We shall build on past experiences while delivering a dedicated policing service, which should accommodate the particular circumstances of your First Nation Community.

In building a strong organization, the Dakota Ojibway Police Service actively seeks and encourages person(s) from the First Nation communities with a desire to pursue a career in law enforcement.

About:
Originally established as the Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council (DOTC) Police Department in 1977, the department now operates as the Dakota Ojibway Police Service.

As one of the longest operating First Nation Police Services in Canada, Dakota Ojibway Police Service is a recognized self-administered police agency located in southern Manitoba, providing policing services to the following Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council First Nation communities:
- Birdtail Sioux - South of Birtle, Manitoba
- Canupawakpa Dakota - South of Virden, Manitoba
- Long Plain First Nation, Manitoba
- Roseau River - North of Emerson, Manitoba
- Sandy Bay - North of Portage la Prairie
- Waywayseecappo - East of Birtle, Manitoba
