Debbie Axiak Art

Debbie Axiak's eclectic collection of paintings are inspired by the thoughts and feelings experienced outside in mother nature and also in human nature. After battling breast cancer, Debbie felt a call to paint and has often said that she believes that painting and creating are good for the soul. While each painting is a means to communicate her own thoughts and feelings, she agrees with Edgar Degas (1834-1917) who said,

“Art is not what you see, it’s what you make others see”.

She knows that providing a description, or even a title could skew an audience's reaction or connection to the work and believes that her audience's interpretations of her work are just as valid as her own. In fact, Debbie greatly enjoys hearing what others see and feel when they look at her paintings. She works in acrylics on canvas in her home studio in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and shares her passion for art with students in Kindergarten through grade 8 as a visual arts teacher.

Debbie donates a percentage of all sales to The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
