In 2013, Sarah Phillips launched the Festival Players Young Company as an opportunity to give aspiring theatre students the chance to perform professional theatre, attend creative workshops, and work alongside Equity performers. In their first year, the Young Co. performed in two shows: Laura Secord the Musical (directed by Eliza-Jane Scott) and Sean Dixon's The Notorious Right Robert and His Robber Bride. In 2014, some new and returning members joined together to perform David S. Craig's All For Beaver Hats!, once again with the help of Eliza-Jane Scott. In 2015, new and returning members will spend the summer devising a historic theatre piece regarding agriculture and food culture in Prince Edward County, titled The Ground Beneath Our Feet. In August, the Young Co. will shift gears and assist in producing Krista Dalby's shadow puppetry piece, Unjustly. Stay tuned for a fascinating summer!
