Most people do not know the difference between hair grades when it comes to hair quality. It is also ture that manufacturers and suppliers do not want their customers to have this knowledge, as this would most certainly be detrimental to their business. At Hair Illusions by Hair Trendz we are a honest business, we would like to educate you, on how to distinguish between hair grades. Note: human hair is not graded like meat, with grade AAA and you'll see this in ads for up selling. Human hair is not manufactured this way, and you also see packaging that says 100% human hair, but it is not, it is mixed with animal hair and or high temperture fiber blend.

Definition and meaning:

Remy Hair: This hair will be very silkyand smooth and have a very good drop. Use your hand to touch the hair back and forth, if it is real remy hair it will feel very smooth from root to tip, with very little friction from root to tip, this hair is not to soft or thin beacuse it is not processed in acid bath, you can also test the tension with your natural hair, it should be almost the same. Another tool to use is a microscope, it would be easier to find the cuticle.

Non Remy Hair:This hair is not very silky and smooth and when compared to remy hair, it sheds alot and it is thinner, another way to check the quality is to wash and style the hair. The non Remy hair will be dry and frizzy, and brakes easily after a few times of washing.



Virgin Hair: Is just that virgin, it has not been treated or coloured, it only comes in a few dark colours, and the DNA is still in the Hair.
