Whether you are looking for a regular fitness programme that enhances self-esteem, focus and coordination or you want to work toward high-performance competition or you just want to practice the sport, then Horizons Taekwondo is exactly what you're looking for!

Junior Colour Belts (age 4 to 9 years, white to green stripe belts) ... This age group works on their sport ABCs (Agility, Balance and Coordination) and begins to work toward developing strength, speed and power in executing Taekwondo skills. Emphasis with this age group is fun and discipline.

Intermediate Colour Belts (age 8 to 14 years, green to blue belts) ... Children in this group have more developed physical and mental skills. The class is fast paced and geared to the needs of children. Some independent practice is required during class. If your child is in this age group, but is ready for more challenge, (s)he is welcome to try the Adult Class.
Emphasis is on learning and playing the game.

Advanced Colour Belts (age 8 to 14 years, red stripe to black belts) ... Children in this group are experienced Taekwondo athletes. They have a good set of fundamental movement and athletic skills as well as very good knowledge of Taekwondo techniques and Poomsae. The first part of the class runs concurrently with the Intermediate Colour Belts, but runs 1/2 hour longer to give the athletes more time to work on advanced techniques and curriculum.

Emphasis is on striving for excellence and preparing for Dan (black belt) testing.

Senior (age 12 and up) ... At least one hour of the class is devoted to aerobic and muscular fitness through Taekwondo practice. This class is high energy. Because we all have different fitness, age and injury levels, everyone needs to monitor themselves. Make sure to take a break if you need a breather. Let the instructor know if you need to modify an exercise for an existing condition.

Our program is made up of Olympic Style Sparring, Poomsae (Patterns), Self-Defence, Board Breaking and Fitnesss. We are proud to be introducing Traditional Korean Weapons training for athletes Green Belt or higher.

Feel free to drop by and observe one of our classes. Better yet, wear comfortable sport clothing and jump into the class to try it on for size. New registrants are welcome anytime.
