The Sheridan diploma program prepares students to enter the dynamic and evolving professional fields of investigation, security and public safety. Students develop skills in analysis, communication, information gathering, and interviewing. The program examines emerging threats such as online frauds, identity theft, computer crime, cyber-threats, terrorism and global security issues. Students learn advanced professional practices such as threat risk assessments, forensic investigation techniques, and how to present complex investigative findings in visual and written formats. In Year 2, students undertake field placements in investigation, insurance, resource protection, physical security, public safety or other relevant fields. After successful completion of Semester 1 students are eligible to be tested for provincial licenses as an investigator and security professional.
