Jonathon Bancroft-Snell Gallery

Established in 2000 the Jonathon Bancroft-Snell Gallery has evolved into a Mecca for ceramic collectors. The gallery showcases the talents of over 125 of Canada’s top ceramic artists from all over Canada. Our commitment is to provide a comprehensive nation-wide representation of Canadian ceramics. We also showcase the work of woodturner Doug Magrath, Fibre artist Nancy Latchford, Bronze sculptor George Shadford, as well as a selection of Canada's leading silversmiths
The unique characteristics of the gallery are:
Size:The gallery is 4,500 square feet
Inventory:The gallery has on display the largest selection of contemporary Canadian ceramics in Canada.
Exhibitions:Each year the gallery hosts a variety of exhibitions held in our private exhibition hall. The exhibitions range from solo exhibitions to group exhibitions all with a specific theme culminating every five years in “Matter of Clay”, our largest national exhibition. Matter of Clay III in 2011 featured the work of over 100 artists.
A unique aspect of our gallery is showcasing not only major exhibition pieces but also the ‘repeat’ work by which many artists earn their living.
