Pinecrest is a Transitway station in Ottawa, Ontario, that began service on September 6, 2009. The name is due to the station's proximity to Pinecrest Road. On June 9, 2006, Then-Ottawa Mayor Bob Chiarelli announced an extension of the West Transitway that include a 1.8 kilometre stretch of transitway from Bayshore station to Pinecrest Road including the new station and located near the road previously served as a regular stop for westbound buses such as route 101.This is the first phase out of two that will see the West Transitway be connected to the Southwest Transitway. The first phase was expected to be completed by the end of 2006 but was completed in 2009 with work having started during the summer of 2007.ServiceThe station serves both westbound and eastbound buses that previously travelled via highway 417.The following routes serve Pinecrest Station: Rapid Routes: 61 62 63 Local Routes: 64 66 82 101 103 155 173 Connexion Routes: 256 261 262 263 264 265 267 268 269 283 Shoppers' Routes: 301 303 Event Routes: 402 404 406 School Routes: 630Notes Routes 64 and 173 operate Monday-Friday only. Routes 66 and 103 operate during peak-periods Monday-Friday only. Routes 82 and 173 don't enter the station itself, but is available on Pinecrest at the Transitway. Route 101 operates Monday-Saturday only. Routes 152 and 282 are available on Greenbank Road, just south of Highway 417. Route 155 operates during selected time periods only. Route 283 doesn't enter the station itself in the afternoons, but there is a stop on Pinecrest, just north of Highway 417. Route 301 operates on Mondays only. Route 303 operates on Wednesdays only.
