Pit Pure

Pit Pure is a natural deodorant that is food based. It is so pure, you could eat it, but, I assure you, you will like it better if you use it as intended.

For years I struggled with finding a natural deodorant that worked. Being newly pregnant with #2, I wanted to find a product that was baby safe as I recalled how much time #1 spent in my armpits; breastfeeding, sleeping etc. It’s amazing how often I ended up with a little head, hand or foot in my armpit on a daily basis. I tried at least 8 different brands and nothing worked. In fact, some made the odor worse. They also were very hard on my skin. I had various reactions ranging from chemical burns to the very worst - a yeast infection in my pits! My armpits are actually scarred to this day.

It got to the point where I had to do without any deodorant and I had to wash my armpits 4-6 times a day; rather inconvenient for a mom of 3/business owner. I was so very fed up and tired of always worrying about body odor.

This past June I decided, out of pure frustration, to try to come up with a homemade alternative. I am well versed in natural healing and had an idea of what natural food items would provide odor control as well as kill those pesky bad bacteria that make us stink. I made a small, half baby food jar amount of my "attempt at deodorant" and put some on. I truly didn't have high hopes. If it helped even a little and didn't burn me or give me an infection, I would have been happy. Twelve hours after I applied it, I couldn't smell a thing. So I forced my ever so loving husband to cram his nose in my pits. He also said I smelled like nothing. (When I made this small test batch I didn't have any essential oils on hand, so it was au naturel.) I kept making the poor man "sniff test" me once a day and the results were the same every time. Finally, no stink. In disbelief, I made him continue to sniff test me for the next 3 weeks, with the same result every time.

It truly is amazing stuff! I can go 2+ days and still be protected. In fact, since I have been using it I have noticed that even on days that I don't apply it, I don't smell nearly as bad as before; more within the lines of "a hint of a smell". Recently my 2 youngest and I contracted the Norwalk virus and I showered but was unable to shower again for over 24 hours after forgetting to apply Pit Pure. When I finally noticed, I did the old sniff test and was shocked at how faint my odor was.

I gave a couple of jars away as gifts to friends and they all asked if I was going to market it as they were very impressed by its effectiveness. I then made a batch to distribute to various friends/customers and required that they gave me honest feedback, good or bad. Thank you to every one of my “guinea pigs”. Every single one of those 20+ people gave me rave reviews and are waiting to hear when they can go buy it. I even had one gentleman who had very fair, sensitive skin who was using nothing at all as he couldn’t find one that didn’t irritate his skin. I held my breath as I waited for his feedback, and in his words “you have a lifetime customer in me. This stuff really works.”
