Ragged Island Roosters

A roots & blues, piano & drums duo -- grain-fed, free-range and raised organically on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

The Ragged Island Roosters are: Allan Crosby (a.k.a Rusty) on drums, harmonica and vocals and Alex Buchanan (a.k.a. Dusty) on piano and vocals. Both having a love for blues, roots and soul music from the 60s and 70s and both being talented songwriters and performers on their own, they teamed up to create a tight and original sounding blues duo.

When performing live, Allan’s soulful drumming and harmonica licks, and, Alex’s rockin’ blues piano all add together to create a remarkable full-band sound. They actively write music together and perform their own original material with a few of their favourite classics mixed in.
