The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board (WECDSB) provides Catholic education to students in Windsor and Essex County. The WECDSB currently oversees 38 elementary and 9 secondary schools in the area and offers a number of beneficial educational programs. English as a Second Language (ESL), French Immersion, the International Baccalaureate Program (IBP), the Opportunity Diploma Program, and the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) are some of the exciting opportunities available to students.
The WECDSB provides a safe and equitable environment to inspire educational success and faith development. Students are challenged to become critical thinkers, effective communicators, and problem-solvers through the development of literacy and numeracy skills. The Catholic graduate is well-rounded, dedicated to his or her faith, and eager to make meaningful contributions to the community.
The Board is comprised of 9 elected trustees from Windsor and Essex County, 2 student trustees, a Board Chaplain, and Board Administration personnel. Meetings are held twice a month on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and are open to the public. The Board actively solicits input from the community regarding existing policies and the development of new programs to promote student achievement.
