Yeg Music is an Artist Development company whose goals are straightforward:

1. Help bands become the best band they can be.
2. Help people who want to support local music find their new favorite bands.

Our approach to artist development revolves around quality show opportunities, management, recording, and marketing tools.

We recognize our office, and home base is in Treaty 6 Territory. Treaty 6 is the traditional meeting land and home of many Indigenous Peoples including Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, and Nakota Sioux Peoples.

Do we have to be an Edmonton band?
No! We will meet with any Alberta artist interested in our company.

Can Yeg Music help arrange live music for my venue, function, wedding, birthday, gala, restaurant, conference, party?
YES! We have developed a Yeg Celebrations program specifically to work with your entertainment needs and budget. Email yegmanagement@gmail.com for more information!

Why only Alberta artists?
We are not set up to be a national company, YET. Stay tuned for development in that area!

I’m touring through and need an Edmonton show, can you do that?
Yes, we can definitely book and promote a show in Edmonton for you on your tour. Specifics and logistics will be worked out on a case by case basis, email yegmanagement@gmail.com for more information.

Is there a fee?
There is no fee to sign with Yeg Music and receive show opportunities, however, if you would like to access our other services (management, photography, videography, etc.) there is a cost associated with that.

Do I have to be signed with Yeg Music to be booked for shows or access Yeg Music’s services?
We only regularly book shows for bands who sign with us. However, we do book outside the company for one-off shows occasionally. You must be a Yeg Music member to access services from our Affiliates at their Yeg Music exclusive pricing.

Can I play my own shows if I'm signed with Yeg Music?
Yes! We give our artists the freedom to book their own shows, events, tours, ep releases, etc. We are a nonrestrictive company.

I work with other organizations in the city. Can I still work with Yeg Music?
In most cases yes, it depends on what agreement you have signed. Come in for a meeting, and we will see what we can do!

I heard that you have to sign a contract. That sounds scary!
The contract was made to help protect you as artists and is very common in the industry. We go over it piece by piece with you, so there is no confusion (and of course, you have the right to take it to outside counsel for a second opinion). Our contract is non-exclusive (meaning you can still work with other agencies/book your own shows), so don’t worry that it will lock you down from other opportunities. That’s the opposite of what we’re trying to accomplish!

I really hate PAY TO PLAY and wanted to know if that is something your company operates on?
We also hate pay to play! All of our artists are signed at a percentage. This percentage dictates how much the artist earns each YEG Music show they play. The percentage increases every 3 months when we review the band’s growth. We look at show draw, social media following, and overall artist development when reworking percentages.

I’m not 18 yet! Can I still apply?
Of course! Age is not a limit for Yeg Music. However, you will need to bring a parent or guardian along with you to your initial meeting.

Are you guys associated with Landmark?
NO.
