Air Guitar Canada

Air Guitar is about ushering a global movement of World Peace. The philosophy states:

'According to the ideology of the Air Guitar, wars would end, climate change stop and all bad things disappear, if all the people in the world played the Air Guitar. This is why the whole universe is invited to play the Air Guitar for world peace at the end of the competition.'

Cheeky - but strangely convincing. Especially for those of us who know the joy that music brings and the freedom of strumming riffs of air and invisible strings. (hey, that kinda rhymes).

In 2007, the World Air Guitar Championships was officially introduced to Canada. Glen Airy Glen Rocks was the first official champ that year, followed by Johnny Utah who took the Bronze in 2008 and 2010. Sadly, Air Guitar Canada fell dormant in 2011 when it lost it's organizer.

2014 marked the return of the Canadian Air Guitar Championships. But this time there was a catch. The organization has been reborn as a not for profit with a mission to put our money where our guitar is and donate the proceeds of our events to charities that share our mission.

We donate the proceeds of our events to Right To Play, a charity dedicated to using sport and play to educate and empower children and youth to overcome the effects of poverty, conflict, and disease in disadvantaged communities world-wide.
