The Algonac Historical Encampment is focused on the daily life activities of the various peoples that inhabited the Great Lakes region during the mid 1700's. First person impressions are encouraged. Participants are also encouraged to demonstrate skills & crafts of the same time period. Authenticity of the time period is required.

Individual registration is required, due to insurance policy.
Individuals will be accepted after a jury process is completed.

The Algonac Historical Encampment was established in 1991. The following portrayals will allowed; Eastern Woodland Indian, French Military, & Various Civilian portrayals.
The encampment site is located 3/4 of a mile from the St. Clair River, in a rustic wooded area. The park is approximately 1 1/2 square miles square miles (1500 acres). Modern camping & shower facilities are available a short walk from the encampment area.

Squirrel season will be open, valid Michigan hunting license is required for anyone hunting.

Camping Participants will be provided with the following items: Wood & Water.

SET UP TIME: Sept. 27h AFTER 12 NOON
BREAK CAMP: Sept. 29
th AFTER 3:OO PM
EARLY & LATE ARRIVALS CAN BE ACCOMMODATED.

After unloading Friday, vehicles need to be removed from the encampment area immediately & are not to return until Sunday 3 PM. No vehicles in encampment area Saturday & Sunday.
A re enactor's parking lot and road, to come & go from the park will be marked.
