My major at the University of British Columbia was in mechanical engineering. I then worked in manufacturing as an engineer for 11 years after graduation. Throughout the years I've always known that I would not be an engineer for the rest of my life; somehow I knew there was something else more fulfilling for me to do with my life.

A few years ago, by chance, I had my first encounter with acupuncture and TCM; right away, like a lightening bolt, I knew this is what I had been searching for. Seeing people getting better from their illnesses gives me a great sense of accomplishment and joy.

The problem solving skills and critical thinking I learned as an engineer has not gone to waste. Rather, these skills aid me in diagnosing and selecting a proper treatment plan for my patients with a scientific approach.
