MY STORY
I was born and spent my early childhood in London, England. My Sri Lankan father was a professionally trained chef in the UK, and my mother of Malaysian origin is also an experienced cook and dietician. You could say that a love of good food and top-notch cooking has been an important part of my upbringing from a very early age.
In 2015, I resigned from a 15 year management career at Bank of Montreal to stay home with my three young children. However, the memories of those busy weekly schedules, packed with school and extra-curricular activities that my husband and I (both full-time working professionals at the time) had to somehow manage, are still vivid in mind. This, along with my passion for cooking and the rave reviews I receive for my dinner party spreads, is where the idea for Ani’s Gourmet was born.
My cooking is made with the high-quality ingredients, and groceries are purchased the day before I prepare the meals to ensure freshness. I pride myself on transforming creative twist on classic dishes.
My goal is for Ani’s Gourmet to be the delicious, home-cooked alternative for busy households that want a break from cooking during the week but prefer a change from fast-food. I also provide an elegant catering option for dinner parties or small functions.
Ani’s Gourmet offers a hot, fresh fixed-menu home-cooked meal available to pick-up every Wednesday, and a more extensive menu for catering functions.
