Art Adrift Outpost & Community Art Project

The Art Adrift Outpost and Community Art Project was created to increase and encourage access to art for people of all ages and backgrounds in Vancouver British Columbia, Canada.

Inspired by Anti M's Home for Wayward Art in Black Rock City and the Little Free Libraries scattered across Vancouver, the Outpost is a free public art display where community members can adopt original pieces of artwork and handmade goods. Visit the outdoor display any time to have a look at our ever-changing collection of art that’s looking for a new home.

The Outpost is located on the unceded and traditional lands of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish),Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. You can find it at the corner of Argyle Street and East 35th avenue. It is accessible from the sidewalk and open to the public anytime.

Participants are encouraged to adopt an artwork and fill in a card explaining why they felt inspired to take the work home. We will be posting these stories anomalously on social media to trace the life or art in our community and beyond the outpost.
