Atlantec BioEnergy Corporation

Atlantec BioEnergy Corporation was incorporated in 2006 under the laws of Price Edward Island. Paul Wheaton, a native of Berwick, NS now residing in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is one of the founding shareholders of the company and is now the sole owner.

Since incorporation, Atlantic BioEnergy has been working closely with professional advisors, industry stakeholders, and all levels of government to develop a commercially viable bio-refinery which would produce advanced bioenergy from non-traditional feedstocks while promoting regional economic development.

Since 2007, Atlantec Bioenergy has been examining the viability of growing a sufficient feedstock supply of energy beets in non traditional energy beet growing areas. Based on the results from over 1,000 acres of energy beets grown, as well as the positive response from the farming community in developed and emerging energy beet growing areas in Canada, it is anticipated the feedstock of sufficent quality and quantity can be grown in several regions throughout Canada capable of sustaining successful Atlantec BioEnergy bio-refineries.

In addition to feedstock trials, Atlantec Bioenergy is currently operating a pre-commercial processing facility in Cornwall, Prince Edward Island. The facility is part of a Sustainable Development Technology of Canada (SDTC) project which is designed to showcase the various integrated components of the bio-refinery. The facility opened in the spring of 2010 after an extensive financial and technical review of the project by both SDTC personnel and designated industry experts.
