Boreal River

Founded in July of 2008 with a main office north of Ottawa in Gracefield, Quebec, Boreal River is a trusted source for whitewater and wilderness expeditions, skills training, and leadership development.

All of our programs are rooted in a passion for wilderness, lifelong learning, exploration, and connecting with people. Our staff are caring professionals; experts in their fields who enjoy helping participants gain confidence and have great experiences in the outdoors. Each program's success is built on our commitment and efforts towards great customer service, planning, preparation, and safety standards.


We run:

• Expeditions on Quebec's rugged and remote Magpie River

• Whitewater rescue courses and consultation across Canada and internationally

• Wilderness medicine, whitewater paddling, and leadership programs


EXPEDITIONS

Whitewater expeditions on the awesome Magpie River - a multi-day trip by raft and kayak - as well as trips on other wilderness rivers.


LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS AND EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION

We work with organizations to create programs for diverse populations that combine wilderness travel, skills training, and leadership development.


WHITEWATER RESCUE TRAINING

Boreal River Rescue is devoted to training and consultation in whitewater and swiftwater safety and rescue. We provide training across Canada and internationally for river guides, paddling instructors, whitewater boaters, field workers, and rescue professionals.

Skills courses for beginners to advanced paddlers.

WILDERNESS MEDICINE COURSES

Partnering with Wilderness Medical Associates International (WMA), Boreal River Rescue delivers wilderness first responder and wilderness first aid training courses. WMA is the leader in wilderness and remote medicine and we work together to provide exceptional courses with dynamic instruction and great service to our students.
