Collins Music Education

Learning and playing a musical instrument has always been about having a goal and achieving it. Whether it's learning to play notes on a page, wanting to start a band and rock out, wanting to strum along with a friend or wanting to write and create your own music - we all start with a goal.

While success depends on the individual and there is no substitute for practice and hard work, the typical route in music education has always been 'one size fits all', and teaching yourself can be extremely daunting!

The goal of Collins Music Education is to redefine music education for the modern player and to have a more practical approach to playing music by weeding out unnecessary hurdles. This includes a) a more practical approach to learning music theory and b) a more thorough and efficient approach to technique. This allows the player to focus on just what they need to play better, and just the information they need to get better!

This page itself will be a resource as well, where I will share videos/articles that I feel containing great content for furthering your musical ability and musical mind.

-At just 30 years old, Brent Collins has almost 20 years of playing experience, graduated St. Francis Xavier University music program with honors, has 10 years experience of private lessons where he honed his teaching methods and will be teaching at St. FX University in the Spring 2018 semester. He has also been (and continues to be) an active performer, both as a guitarist, front man and solo performer.-
