Bulldog Camps was established by H.P. McKenney in the 1880's as a set of logging camps and has been operating as a remote sporting camp since the turn of the century. It is located on the northern end of Enchanted Pond where McKenney built his famous log sluice that significantly shortened the time it took for the trees in the area to make it to the mill. The three original hundred-year-old cabins still standing have been joined by six more built throughout the twentieth century, all of which offer a panoramic view of the pond and of the namesake mountains that rise abruptly from its shores.
