Kanata Guides (Tuesdays):

5607 Hazeldean Rd location (Stittsville)
When: Tuesday’s starting at 6pm (Late April - early/mid Sept, weather permitting)
Where: Bushtukah’s store parking lot
Duration: Distance will be between 25-45km, speed is determined buy ability level of the group for that week. We are a non drop ride.

203 Richmond Rd Location (Westboro)
When: Wednesday’s starting at 6pm (late April - Early Oct, weather permitting)
Where: Westboro beach parking lot
Duration: 1.5 to 2.5 hours (depending on rider level, weather and daylight) Routes will vary week to week, speed is determined by ability level of the group for that week. We are a non drop ride. There are also two groups ‘A’ and ‘B’, ‘group A’ is generally a faster group.

Requirements:
•ability/confidence to ride in a group, no worries if you are a beginner! We are happy to help you learn if this is your first time.
•basic knowledge of changing a tire and the mechanic’s of your bike is an asset.
•carry needed tools for changing a flat (tube, tire levers, pump/co2, patch kit)
•bring water and or nutrition as needed to complete the ride
•emergency contact information (road id or something similar, even a note in your pocket)
•it is also strongly recommended to bring a mobile phone, some cash and your health card in case of emergency.
•road bikes only, no aero bars. The riding position of a bike with aero bars can be unsafe in a group ride, especially when together on a bike path. Many aero bar setups keep your hands away from your brakes, this aggressive riding position makes it difficult to react quickly in an emergency situation.
•must wear a helmet
•front/rear light (required half hour after sunrise, before sunset) and bell, horn or gong(it’s true, but we don’t have gong’s for sale and also don’t recommend them for a road bike)
•riders must obey all traffic regulations
