Calgary Islamic School (CIS)

Calgary Islamic School, sometimes abbreviated as "CIS", is an Islamic private school. The Calgary Islamic School (CIS) is an accredited Alberta Learning Facility. CIS operates as a private school within the greater Calgary Community, primarily serving Muslim students from Kindergarten (KG) to grade 12. In an Islamic environment, the CIS emphasizes high academic achievement that is based on the prescribed Alberta Education’s Curriculum, Islamic Studies and Arabic as a Second Language.

It has a Tahfeez, or memorization, program running within the school for those who wish to memorize the Qur'an, as well as complete their normal course of education.

Three words “Faith, Knowledge and Creativity" summarize school’s objectives; not only to produce students of outstanding academic achievement but also, and more important, to develop human personalities of high moral character and conduct.
