CaNadine

Designer/Artist, Nadine Abd is born and raised in Syria. Her rich and diverse background is steeped in middle eastern history, with family roots that chronicle both sides of the colonial and revolutionary movements. Nadine grew up surrounded by the arts and took an early interest in the vast variety of indigenous and European inspired paintings, sculpture, tapestry, and textiles that played such a vital role in her everyday life. Her passion for art and self-expression has inspired a continued expansion of her vision to include the study of architecture, and both interior and landscape design.



Due to the civil war in Syria Nadine was forced to move out of her beloved city Aleppo, a very sorrowful decision. She took everything with her, everything she could possibly pack and take, except for one thing, one thing she couldn’t transfer was her soul. The decision was to go to Canada and start all over again. That’s were Nadine with her creative mind set up a small studio in her parent’s apartment, and started drawing over everything she sees, until she created her first pair of sneakers over an old white vans that she owned, and CaNadine was created.



In moments of complete awareness, there is peace and a sense of timelessness; a palpable connection to everything around us. Out of this awareness, beauty can arise. This is what art is to me. It is my vessel to tranquility and peace. It is a way for me to look at what seems “ordinary” and find the extraordinary within it. It is a way out of madness and chaos into my personal bliss. I have dedicated my entire life to my art, while still living in my life as a new immigrant to this beautiful country. I find balance within myself. Art comes out of life, and life is full of delicate beauty.



“It is my intention that these images, created in various medium in a “Classical” and “Pop Art” style, will serve to inspire large audiences, from all walks of life and traditions, to awaken to their own divine creativity and self.” My life’s motto is to “AWAKEN, IMAGINE, CREATE and INSPIRE!”
