Clearwater Lake Paddlers

This program will be the first and only of its kind offered currently in the SW corner of Saskatchewan under Canoe Kayak Saskatchwan. It will allow people of all ages to learn, progress and/or train to compete and take part in a sport close to home; this opportunity also opens doors for those who wish to compete across the province and potentially within the country. We are a club commencing from the ground up, built solely upon mine and my mothers passion for water sports and wanting to see our dream of a club at Clearwater Lake become a reality. We want to offer the opportunity we weren’t able to receive being from a rural area in the prairies to a little lake that has so much potential. This is also the only activity available for the whole family that isn’t going to break the bank, our goal is to make lessons as affordable as feasibly possible and get as much community involvement and families active as we can. We currently have very little money and equipment, and would appreciate any donations to help aid in getting this spirited club up and running. I personally believe in the board members and program that we have established and have confidence this club to break boundaries here in the SW.

Our plan is to start lessons after May long weekend 2017 (when the park opens up for the season) and offer Sunday afternoons 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm. The potential to offer courses on different days and hours will be up to the available coach and the demand for practices as the season progresses. Any funding we receive, along with fundraising the club does, will go towards acquiring equipment throughout the year and attending regattas. We would also like to host a developmental regatta in the near future as we see a huge benefit to hosting other clubs at our lake and allowing any of our club members the opportunity to attend an event like this at home.
