The Coquitlam Crunch Challenge is the annual fundraising event to help the community grow a Community Diversity granting fund with the Coquitlam Foundation. This granting fund will produce an annual grant to community groups wishing to promote greater inclusion of social or economic activity of any diversity group identified by the community as being excluded. For example, helping new immigrants, people with developmental delays, youth, seniors or people with physical disabilities to find work.
Donations to the event and participant contributions are all passed on to contribute to this charitable purpose. Donations of $20 or more can be acknowledged with a tax deductible receipt from the Coquitlam Foundation (provided the donor provides complete name and postal address for tax purposes).
In 2016, the event changed leadership and has a co-benefactor, the Nothin' Dragon Masters team who operate under the Dogwood Pavilion Seniors Society.
