Press Release: Creative Arts Retreat at Woodside Opening - New arts learning opportunity features an immersive setting.

Susan Bennett, creator of Southern Ontario' s first all-inclusive Arts Retreat, is excited to announce the opening of the Creative Arts Retreat at Woodside. It is situated in a Carolinian forest, home of Woodside Greens Golf Club, 837 Charlotteville Road 10, Simcoe, in Norfolk County, a short drive away from the north shore of Lake Erie.
This is a unique retreat for beginning artists as well as advanced students, looking for in-depth, quality art instruction from passionate instructors. Sessions are in watercolour, acrylics, oils, encaustics and mixed media. Complete art immersion will be accomplished by a 5 night, 4 day stay. Day students will also be welcomed. The all-inclusive stay features a swimming pool, unlimited golf on the 18- hole golf course, easy access to hiking a short drive away in the Long Point biosphere which rounds out the art instruction from excellent teachers/ instructors from across Ontario.

Accommodations are provided in a five bedroom house with private ensuite baths with meals made and presented in the clubhouse by the resident chef. This tranquil setting is surrounded by stately red oak trees which offer an environment of privacy and a feeling of seclusion encouraging self examination and meditation when desired. The scenery and outdoor pavilion gives the opportunity for "en plein air" painting.

This is a unique opportunity to combine a vacation retreat with an artistic endeavour where the tools of the trade and the instructors will be given to provide a satisfying pursuit of the art of ones' choice. The guided exploration of choice of media allows for intimate gathering away from urban stress.
Organization is second nature to Bennett, who owned a business selling field-grown perennials which she combined with an art store where she represented local artists and artisans. For five years she volunteered as the Project and Events Director for Norfolk ArtsCo and during her tenure, initiated the Authors’ Book Fair which she successfully spear headed until it was turned over to the Norfolk Public Library for continued operation. Susan is committed to the development of creative learning resources which explore the richness of Norfolk’s environment and culture.
