DC Dual Credits - SCWI

The School-College-Work Initiative is a co-operative effort with a mandate to assist in creating a seamless transition for students from secondary school to college. In addition to a wide array of learning and awareness opportunities for students, teachers, parents and the broader community, projects have been developed to provide dual credit programs for secondary students through the partnership of secondary schools and colleges.

Dual credits are a great choice for students who are:
- At risk of not graduating (OSSD)
- Enrolled in a Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM)
- Enrolled in an Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP)
- Out of school, under 21, but close to completing their OSSD

The dual credit programs at Durham College deliver over 2000 dual credits a year to students at the Oshawa and Whitby campuses as well as off campus at many of the secondary schools in the Durham Region. The dual credit programs vary from skilled trades and apprenticeship programs to a wide variety of subject specific dual credits in business, health & wellness, general education, math and science.
