More about Dear Thelma, Love Louise

Dear Thelma, Love Louise started as a Mobile Thrift & Art Shop operating out of a vintage whimsical caravan that traveled to various festivals, markets, and events. The shop was created in the memory of my beloved friend and road trip companion Dana (Lisa) Rondeau, The Thelma to my Louise, who passed away from a short battle with cancer a few years back. Just before the grand opening of the shop, I was diagnosed with a brain stem tumor which made me second guess if opening a mobile shop was the right decision at that time, and I have been living with all the changes, good and bad, that diagnosis has made in my life. At the end of our first season, I decided to open a pop-up shop within the walls of a friends Pond and Water Garden business and then after the second season of festivals, I closed Thelma the trailer up and stored her away while my husband and I downsized and moved to a small apartment in London Ontario's, Old East Village. I then switched gears and focused more on my actual artwork, holding a pop-up art show in early 2016. As the third festival season approached, due to health reasons, I decided to leave Thelma the trailer in storage and forgo the season while I continued to take the time to sketch and paint and start a long overdue novel. After much consideration, it has been decided to retire Thelma the vintage trailer. Due to my inability to drive because of the effects of the tumor and my husband's injury which also limits his time and abilities to assist me, it does not make much sense to own a mobile shop! Thelma will get a makeover, restoring her to a glamper (glamorous camper) and we hope to find a spot for her where she can be lived in and enjoyed by us and friends and family. As for Dear Thelma, Love Louise the business... The shop will operate online right here on Facebook with special auctions, promotions, and announcements of pop-up sale locations without Thelma, as well as showcasing links to our Etsy store, and my blog. We will continue to hold art shows and random acts of kindness events, workshops and special swaps, and art giveaways. As I move forward with my writing. I will share previews here on Facebook as well. Thank You for following us and I hope you continue to do so as we go through these transitions.
