Debbie Suian Counselling

My counselling practice revolves primarily around a solution-focused approach to identifying, clarifying and resolving difficulties. Information is gathered regarding the nature of the problem, solutions previously attempted - including the outcome of previous counselling experiences, and changes in the problem resulting from our work together.

You are seen as the expert of your own experience, and the counselling process is designed to be respectful of your knowledge, wisdom, resources and abilities.

You will be encouraged to identify, explore and make use of your own strengths and resources as you work towards resolving the difficulties that bring you to counselling. Case notes may be completed with you in session in an effort to monitor your counselling experience and progress. Between session homework is often used to help you achieve your goals as quickly as possible.
