Delectable Deliverables

Does this sound familiar? It’s Friday night, and you’ve worked all day. And in less than an hour, your dinner guests will arrive expecting a fabulous meal – which is fabulizing in the oven as we speak.
But you’ve forgotten about dessert. So now, in a state of barely controlled panic, you dash around your kitchen, trying to whip together an awe inspiring and gorgeous cheesecake, but the cream cheese is cold and uncooperative, most of the graham cracker crumbs are on the floor, and damn it, don't we have a whisk somewhere? The laptop keys are gummed up with cheesecake gunk as you consult the online recipe for the tenth time, and by now your vocabulary has evolved alarmingly in both pitch and creativity. You finally get the sorry-looking cake in the oven and turn your hand to the chocolate topping, but – wait for it – the kids have eaten all the bulk chocolate. Your tirade is in full swing now, the dog is cowering in the basement, and your fabulous partner (whom you chose, remember) wants to know if maybe it wouldn’t have been easier to buy a dessert from the grocery store…
Your guests arrive. The wine, conversation, and fabulous meal ease the tension and you feel almost sane again – though there’s still that telltale tic in the corner of your left eye.

Cut to your next dinner party. In the interest of preserving your sanity and familial harmony, not to mention a whole lot of time and effort, you’ve called Delectable Deliverables to take the pressure off. In fact, Ann at DD has created a succulent, melt in your mouth chocolate quinoa cake with a fabulous chocolate and whipped cream frosting. (When the guests leave, you are going to lick their plates.) You've also ordered some uber crispy garlic cocktail crackers which you'll served with that amazing hummus you made. Oh, and a batch of chocolate oat bars to put in the kids’ lunches next week because despite what you said about selling them to the gypsies after they ate all your bulk chocolate, you decide that you kind of like them after all.

Pricing: When I first set out on this venture, I wanted to test the waters, see if there was a market for what I was offering. To encourage new customers, I set my prices low, aiming only to cover my expenses until I had established a customer base. In March 2016, I will adjust my pricing to reflect something closer to market value and the cost of delivery. I am, however, committed to creating delectables at a price that works for both you and me.
Ordering Times: I can usually meet orders within 24 hours but if possible, place your order several days in advance so I can be sure to deliver your delectables when you want them.
Delivery Range: The cost of delivery is included in the item cost for distances within 8 km of me. Deliveries over 8 km will incur an additional charge of $5.00.
Minimum Charge: Orders under $20 will incur a $5 delivery charge plus any applicable distance charges. There is no minimal charge for delectables that are picked up.
Special Requests: If you have a special request for either a dessert or an ingredient addition/omission, please ask. (Full disclosure: I am not a pastry chef, but if you don't mind a more "prepared with love" rather than "prepared with years' of training" look, then I'm happy to give it a try.) You'll notice nothing on the menu contains raisins; I think raisins have about as much place in baking as spiders do in your underwear drawer, but if that is your thing, I'm happy to add a few spiders - I mean raisins!
