Delta Delta Delta Women's Fraternity was founded in 1888 at Boston University by Sarah Ida Shaw and Eleanor Dorcus Pond. It began as an organization concerned with the growth and development of college woman and has evolved into a leader among sororities.
In 1930, the Canada Alpha chapter was installed at the University of Toronto, making Delta Delta Delta an international fraternity.
