Done-Rite Tire & Auto is a locally owned company that has been providing vehicle repair and maintenance services for over nineteen years.

Doug Wilson began the company in 1996 under the name of Done-Rite Imports. The company specialized in repairing and maintaining imported vehicles, such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. Initially, Doug was a one-man show, acting as both the service writer and the licensed technician. Doug’s first employee was his mother, Loretta, who doubled as the bookkeeper and the receptionist. Within a short period of time, Doug’s reputation for quality workmanship and honest pricing began to spread throughout the city, and demand for his service increased. By the end of 1997, Done-Rite Imports had a staff of three licensed technicians, one apprentice technician, and a base of loyal customers.

In 1999, Done-Rite Imports relocated to a significantly larger facility at 1020 Carrick Street. The additional square footage allowed the company to diversify its customer base and the types of services offered. The company began to service vehicles other than imported models, and management consciously focused on gaining commercial clients and expanding into related businesses.

In 2005, Done-Rite Imports became an authorized tire dealer for Bridgestone and Firestone, and entered full force into the retail market. This change in focus gave rise to the company’s name change from Done-Rite Imports to the all encompassing Done-Rite Tire & Auto.

With a full service repair shop, industry leading tire inventory, and a vehicle rental agency, Done-Rite Tire & Auto truly provides one stop shopping for vehicle needs. The experienced service staff and factory-trained technicians consistently delivery quality and comprehensive automotive services in Thunder Bay’s most impressive repair shop.

The repair shop is state of the art with a sophisticated, German built, Hoffman 3D imaging wheel alignment machine, eight Hoffman hoists and an impressive I-scan diagnostic machine. In addition, the shop has been cosmetically enhanced with eco-friendly lights, fresh paint and new metal finishing. It is a high production repair shop with world class diagnostic equipment.

Done-Rite Tire & Auto is a dominant provider of vehicle repair service in the city of Thunder Bay. Although it has expanded its service offerings, the business still operates as it did in 1995, with care and exceptional customer service.
