Downtown Pembroke - Pembroke Business Improvement Area

The Pembroke Business Improvement Area (PBIA) is an organization that represents the business and property owners in the geographic area consisting of the downtown core from Mackay Street to Christie Street and Isabella Street to the Ottawa River. We are run by a board of management which is set up to provide business promotion and improvement functions.

The PBIA is local business people and property owners joined together with the support of the City of Pembroke, to organize, finance and carry out physical improvement and promote economic development in the downtown core. City council is the body responsible for approving the budget of the PBIA. There are now more than 240 BIAs in place across the province. They vary in size from 60 businesses and property owners to more than 2,000.
Presently the PBIA has over 200 members.
