Dragonfly Farm Store

Dragonfly Garden Farm was born in March 2006! After finding out we could not have children, we decided we needed more in our lives than shopping and good restaurants. I had already converted the postage stamp sized back yard into a gardener’s paradise and needed more room to play in the dirt. Mike was looking for some new adventures and thought we might give farming a try; really how hard could it be? (FYI, it can be hard!)

We always knew we would farm organically, we just weren’t sure what we would grow. We both love for animals and the outdoors, so after some soul searching and a few trips to see cows “close up” we decided we would establish an unconventional mixed farm using organic, sustainable, ecological and humane practices and principals.

Selling direct to our customers, establishing our own distribution channels, building our own supply chain with like minded companies and learning to raise BEEF, PORK, CHICKEN, TURKEY, DUCK, GOOSE and HONEY seemed like an adventure. It’s all we want to do!

Unlike large scale conventional farming where animals are grown in gigantic barns, where product can be grown consistently throughout the year; pasture based farming relies on the spring, summer and fall growing season to provide fresh green grass.
