Ehatare Retirement Home was built by the Estonian Relief Committee in Canada to serve the needs of the aging Estonian population. The home was completed at the end of 1981, with the first residents moving in in January of 1982. The Nursing Home, fourth floor addition, was opened in March, 1995.
Ehatare Retirement Home has 76 private rooms and 12 double (usually couples) rooms. The Nursing Home has 8 private, 10 two-person and one 4-person rooms (32 beds in total). Each room has a bathroom, and closet. The furnishings are oak. There is individually controlled electric heat in each room, along with telephone and cable T.V. connections.
