Etcetera

Etcetera began as a community discussion group in 2012 dedicated to Socrates’ maxim: “The unexamined life is not worth living.” Our goal was to create a forum of honest inquiry, informed discourse, and reasonable presentations of even the most volatile of issues. Our ultimate goal was to bring moral and/or philosophical clarity to our culture, our world, and our very existence. The community discussion group incarnation of Etcetera was founded by Anthony Weber, Beth Milligan, Scott Smith and Levi Meeuwenberg and brought together professors, writers, thinkers, pastors and other renowned panelists for thoughtful conversations in front of a live audience on a monthly basis for nearly two years.

While the community group eventually dissolved, Anthony Weber and Beth Milligan revived the concept of Etcetera in 2017 as a new podcast dedicated to going beyond the talking points in politics, ethics, philosophy, religion and pop culture in the pursuit of truth. In a culture that's more divided than ever, we aim to continue pursuing Etcetera's initial goal of bringing people together through thoughtful conversations in a new format, using the medium of podcasting to explore topical and complex issues with humor, rigor, compassion and inclusion of a variety of viewpoints.
