A co-op is a group of people who come together to run a non-profit organization with set goals. There is a board that is elected, and each member of the co-op has one vote each to determine the major directions that the co-op takes.

Our Collingwood Community Food Co op is here to provide local and organic, non genetically modified foods within our community. We are committed to also work with the social and educational components of food, the industry of it and the
politics. We use the values set up by fellow modern co-ops that have been in existence for over 150 years.
There are many different co-ops - housing, insurance, food.... At CCFC We keenly support our local producers to sustain our regional and local economy and give a good clean choice for food, simply grown without dependence on chemical based methods.

Everyone wants good local and 'away' foods. What are away foods? Think oranges, bananas, avocados and chocolate. We do that too.

Our co op store sells to anyone who wants to buy from us. However, as other people have said elsewhere 'membership has its benefits.' For example, members receive a 5-10% discount off all their purchases, depending on their level of involvement.

CCFC depends on our suppliers to have high standards for the products we obtain from them. We watch over that.
