Forest City Mechanical

Dan and Tony Harris created Forest City Mechanical in 2003 , the Monday after the long weekend in April. This is how we started as a company, we had gone to our place of work and there was a posting that the company had gone into receivership. Tony worked in the office and did all the heat loss and duct designs, and I was a foreman for the company and looked after the Kitchener Region. When we met with the owners, the owner told us that you always wanted to own your own company and this would be the perfect time to start your company.

Tony and I went outside and there was about six employees standing out front with no job asking us what we were planning on doing. We told them that we were opening up our own heating company and they asked if they could join us. We told them sure but here is the deal, we have no work, we have no shop, we have no trucks, and we have no money but if you give us a week we promise you we will have a pay cheque in your pocket within a week. We followed through with that promise and we have never looked back.
