RRAS is a city shelter and can only accept animals from River Rouge and Ecorse. The improved shelter is now very rescue friendly, but is still SMALL and are not able to house many animals. We do our best to network them in hopes of finding suitable adopters or rescues, but if the shelter fills up, then the animals who have been there the longest are in jeopardy of being euthanized.
