In 2013, a small group of people started the Fruit for All program, to help get surplus fruit from local homes to people who can use it. When we incorporated as a non-profit in 2015, we chose the name Sudbury Shared Harvest, rather than Fruit for All, to reflect the fact that our mission had expanded since Fruit for All was begun. The mission of Sudbury Shared Harvest is cultivating community health by connecting people, the food they eat and the land it comes from. We support people in gaining the knowledge, skills and resources they need to access or grow their own food in a way that enhances our urban environment.
