Gerald (Gerry) Swain has served twenty-four years in the United States Army. He has been in the Army since he graduated from high school. He retired in 2005 from the United States Army. During his career, he has been stationed in Berlin, Germany, Central America, Grenada West Indies, and different states in the United States. His position in the Army was First Sergeant. The first sergeant meaning is the highest of the Non Commission officer in the company, in which he was a trainer of soldiers. He has trained thousands during his career on weapons, logistics, and war on terrorism.
His awards include, Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals, Good Conduct Medals, Meritorious service medal, and the Army Occupation Medal, Honorable discharges, Retirement Pin, Physical fitness awards, and other various awards.
His civilian education includes classes from Jefferson Community College in New York, Central Texas College, Big Bend College in Berlin Germany, and the University of Phoenix of Costa Mesa, CA with a Degree in Business Administration.
Gerald (Gerry) Swain was born in Welch, West Virginia. He grew up in Elbert, West Virginia, which was known as number #8 Holler until the age of 18 years old. He is the youngest son of twelve children, which includes five boys and seven girls. He also grew up beside a famous family in which the last name is Harvey. His father was a coal miner for 47 years and mother was a homemaker. Once Gerry retired from the Army, he started experimenting with different sauces and canning that he saw his mother do when he was a child. After a few months he decided to form a business called GardensColor Food Products where he started growing all his organic vegetables and canning for his family.
