Quality products. At GEM, we do our homework. We look for manufacturers that excel in reliability, customer service and product quality. Do they offer the options customers are looking for? What’s their warranty like? Are they Window Wise and Energy Star certified? Is the manufacturing plant or head office near our customers? We know the players and only work with the best—which is something they recognize and respect. A perfect example: in 2013, GEM became the first independent showroom and contractor in the GTA for Pella, one of the oldest and best-known window and door manufacturers in North America.
Apples to apples price match guarantee. GEM’s prices are very competitive, but if you can find a lower quotation on your job—provided the products and installation are equivalent—we’ll lower our quotation by the difference in the cost plus 10 per cent
Personalized service. We’re problem solvers, not product pushers. We listen carefully to your needs and offer solutions to meet them. Our small staff of knowledgeable salespeople take good care of you, from your first visit to our 5,000 square foot state-of-the-art showroom to follow-up after your job is done.
Window Wise certified installers. All GEM’s window installers are Window Wise certified, meaning they’ve gone through rigorous training and must adhere to high standards of installation and customer service. Window Wise independently audits our installations to ensure we meet their stringent criteria. You also get an additional transferrable five year warranty.
Innovative products. We were the first company in Canada to carry windows with self-cleaning coatings. The first to source V-groove beveled glass. And among the first to adopt the Window Wise program. Our experience in the industry means we can distinguish between passing fads and the way of the future.
A green mindset. We recycle the glass and aluminum from every window we replace and buy local products whenever possible. We’ve retrofitted the lighting in our showroom to reduce energy consumption and have plans to do more, including painting our roof white to reduce cooling bills by 20 per cent, installing solar panels and purchasing electric fleet vehicles.
