More about Greien

GREIEN is a clean-tech skill-development agency on the forward-thinking mission of preparing & training junior talent to lead the energy world of tomorrow. We are a group of young and passionate Canadians who are building the type of clean-tech engagement we wish exists, by involving students in solving live and current green challenges facing the Canadian and global green economy.

We bridge the gap between junior talent and the green world by turning students into consultants, designers and founders trained to innovate cutting-edge green solutions.

We wish to serve Canada in maximizing its prosperity via the opportune green economy of the 21st by supplying a skilled, engaged and passionate young workforce.

How do we do it?
GREIEN SPARKS

SPARKS is our proprietary four-month design program that turns every student in one of its inter-faculty teams (finance, arts, science, engineering, etc) into a designer. SPARKS’ designers work together as they build a pragmatic solution for an industry-submitted live challenge.

Green challenges can fit any of the following categories: technological, fiscal, legal and/or societal. As part of its curriculum, SPARKS uses a meticulously created design toolbox that facilitates real-life insights and iterative prototyping and instills persistence and boldness in approach. The result is a myriad of solutions based on tangible insight and tested hypotheses. Solutions can take the form of start-ups, social enterprises, non-for-profits, marketable products, consultancy recommendations, research proposals, media campaigns, etc.

In the process, GREIEN SPARKS builds a lasting community of designers, mentors, financiers, academics, professionals and resources that ensure the longevity of a sprouting green innovation eco-system at the McGill University campus, where the program is held.
