Haida Watchmen

The Haida Watchmen is Hydaburg's search and rescue/EMS team, and is the name of the new search and rescue vessel which was purchased with a grant written by Doreen Witwer, the Hydaburg Cooperative Association Tribal Administrator. Doreen wrote and submitted this very successful grant to the Alaska State Legislature. The vessel is outfitted with state of the art equipment, twin 300 hp Yamaha outboards, rescue equipment and a team of 8 volunteer crew members. The lead captain of the vessel and crew is Tony Sanderson. Second Captain is Theodore Peele. Volunteer crew/team members are; Joseph Sanderson, Deon Jones, Stasha Sanderson, Mark Knapp, Dorinda Sanderson and Lisa Lang.
