Since first opening our doors in Sault Ste. Marie way back in 1998 (crazy how time flies!) not too much has changed. Our focus has always been on searching out the most unique and funkiest of products in an attempt to bring culture choices and education about other countries to our friends and customers. There are absolutely no sweat shops or child labour involved in the production of anything that we carry because we believe that there is only one race ~ the human race!

Hilltribe Ontario would not have opened way back when if it were not for Janice who had the vision and desire to bring something different to our community. On returning from a trip out East she asked her daughter Lana to join her in this venture and 6 months later our doors were opened! And the doors stay open thanks to the hard work, commitment, dedication and love from many staff members over the years and especially Stephanie and Lynn who round out our family at this time. Hilltribe Ontario is still around for all of us to enjoy because of everything that they do on a daily basis.
