Hyperborea is an independent book publisher based in Canada.

We publish literary fiction and poetry, as well as scholarly and popular non-fiction in the arts and humanities—particularly history, philosophy, religion, and literary or artistic criticism.

We publish both paperbacks and e-books.

We accept previously unpublished manuscripts directly from authors—no literary agent necessary—and provide significant editorial support to writers whose work shows promise.

Most importantly, because we have flattened out the publication process by acting as agent, editor, publisher, and distributor all in one, our authors are able to take home a much larger share of their books’ profits than they do with mainstream publishers!
